Ferry Travel
Follow Highway 1 West to the BC Ferries terminal in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. There you will board a ferry bound for Langdale/Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. Enjoy the scenic forty minute ferry cruise.
Note: If you plan on traveling to Sakinaw via Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver the fare will be charged only upon departure. The return trip is free.
From Langdale/ Gibsons After disembarking at the Langdale Ferry Terminal it’s an 80 minute drive north on Highway 101. You will pass through the towns of Gibsons and Sechelt. Continue north through Halfmoon Bay and Secret Cove.
Once you reach Madeira Park, Sakinaw Lake is only 15 minutes down the road. You will pass the turn off to Garden Bay (at the Petro Canada station), and then the Pender Harbour Golf Course on your left. Continue 6 kms and turn left onto Sakinaw Lake Road.
If you pass the Iris Griffith Centre you’ve gone too far. Continue down Sakinaw Lake Road until you see the lake and we’ll be waiting to bring you across. It takes about 4 minutes to cross the lake and we are happy to ferry you back and forth as you require.
From Vancouver Island Take the Comox ferry to Powell River. In Powell River board the ferry from Saltery Bay to Earls Cove. Drive south along Highway 101 (Sunshine Coast Hwy) for approximately 10 minutes, and then turn right onto Sakinaw Lake Road. Drive straight down to the lake and we’ll be here waiting.
